Increasing sorting capacities
Sorting is a key moment when operators orient textile and footwear waste towards their second life.
The separate reusable products which can be sold on from non-reusable products which will be transformed into new materials.
In 2023, Refashion launched its new sorting operator agreement which includes a double financial support mechanism for the development of sorting capacities, with and without investment.
The objectives fixed aim to significantly increase sorting capacities by 2028 and consequently absorb the additional volumes to be collected.
Support for material and / or colour based over-sorting is also proposed in order to speed up the development of recycling in France and in Europe.
